Getting My Blog On!

Appropriately titled… I am gettin’ my blog on today! Thank you SO much for being here!

When I started my photography business four years ago, I was most excited about creating artistic images that captured genuine emotion and beautiful light. I was LEAST excited about starting a blog 😂 Not that I don’t enjoy writing (because I actually do!) but I am an introvert through-and-through. Sharing my thoughts and feelings just seemed super daunting and, well, terrifying haha! But, I’m so excited to say that I have moved past that!

The photo above was captured by the gorgeous & talented Laura Miller and it’s me (in the middle) with my bonus daughters, Kamryn & Kaylee – I feel like it says more about my personality than most of the *few* photos I have of myself. I love to laugh, I’m pretty sure I’m the friendliest person I know, and I have a very tight, close knit circle.

I told myself this year that I would start blogging for several reasons, not only do I feel like it would really help me professionally, but I genuinely believe there is a lot of personal growth to be had here as well! I love to write, but even more, I want to share more of my personality than just the images from my D750. I like to think of myself as more than JUST a photographer… when you see me every year for your family portraits, I feel more like a family friend. On your wedding day, I will be by your side ALL DAY – & I do everything from taking pictures of your dad tearing up the first time he sees you, to calming your nerves because you can’t believe your wedding day is already here and that alone is overwhelming, sewing on buttons, keeping a timeline, encouraging shy guests to DANCE, and then finally delivering the very images you will look at for the rest of your life. It is a BIG job, and to say that it is my life would be a very accurate statement. But I definitely don’t feel like I am JUST a photographer most days, so it’s super important to me that my clients love me and I love my clients.

On October 20th of this year, I will be celebrating one full year of being a full time photographer – I can’t tell you how thankful I am to finally be here, and my clients (YOU!) made that possible! I hope to use this space to share beautiful images, but also to share my heart, and my super fun adventures along the way. Again, thank you for being here and I can’t wait to blog more!! 😜

New Blog & Prepping for Fall

Well hey there! As most of you know, I transitioned to full time photography in October of last year – and it only took me until now to get a blog going 😜 I figured, what a better time to get this going than now?! Mid-wedding season and pre-CRAZY season! All jokes aside, I’m super excited to have more of a voice here on the internet and behind my images. I know that 1-2 hour long sessions isn’t a very long time to get to know each other, but I love to be open with all my “client-friends” because at the end of the day, this is so much more than a business to me. I am a photographer because I love love, connection and art. So thank you for being here and reading if you made it this far! 💖

If you are a subscriber to my emails, then you got my announcement about Fall Mini Sessions this October! 🎃🍁💛 With getting married and already being booked out so far in advance, I wasn’t able to pull these together for last year. Therefore, I planned AHEAD and picked one day for this shindig to happen! Any sessions not picked up by my email subscribers will become available TOMORROW (Aug 1) at 8:30pm when I post to Facebook/Instagram. I will be prompt – so set a reminder or have your phone handy, I expect these sessions to go very quickly!

Didn’t get an email? Make sure you subscribe using the handy little bar below so you don’t miss your chance for early sign ups on future mini sessions. I do not spam you – I usually only send about one email per month with specials and announcements.

Thank you again for joining me here! I’m sorry I don’t have more beautiful images to share with you on this post, but they are coming, I promise! I’m looking forward to blogging and sharing more of my work and life with you all! 💕
